Terms & Conditions

Effective and last updated: 2026-10-24

In short. Just In Time is beta software, provided as-is. The direct download updates itself automatically, and the Mac App Store version is updated by Apple. Alerts can be late or missed, so don't rely on it alone for anything that matters. There is no charge during the beta, and you will never be charged unless you choose to sign up for a paid plan.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading, installing, or using Just In Time ("the app"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the app.

2. The service

Just In Time is a macOS menubar application, currently in beta, that connects to your Google Calendar (read-only) and alerts you before meetings, escalating from a soft nudge to a full-screen hard block. As a beta product, its features, timing, and availability may change or be removed without notice.

3. Who can use the beta

The beta is open to testers we approve individually and, from the Mac App Store, to anyone in the countries where it is offered. It is not currently offered in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you are located there, please do not use the app for now.

4. Accounts

Just In Time does not have its own account system. You sign in with your Google account only to grant read-only calendar access, as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of Google Calendar remains subject to Google's own terms.

5. Licence and ownership

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, in line with these terms. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or modify the app, or remove its notices, except where the law allows it regardless of this restriction. We keep all rights, title, and intellectual property in the app.

If you install the app from the Mac App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement for licensed applications applies to you as well. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or for support for it.

6. Automatic updates

The version you download from our website checks for updates automatically, downloads them, and installs them when you quit it. The version from the Mac App Store is updated through the Mac App Store instead. Updates may include security fixes and changes to features. Some older versions may stop working until you update. By using the app, you agree to receive these updates.

7. Diagnostics

The app sends crash reports and usage signals to help us find bugs, including failures that are otherwise invisible, such as an alarm that does not fire. These are on by default and never include your calendar contents. You can switch either one off at any time in Settings, independently of the other. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent, and to whom.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app for anything unlawful;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source code, beyond what applicable law permits;
  • misuse the Google integration, for example by accessing accounts you are not authorized to access, or by interfering with or overloading Google's services.

9. Don't rely on it alone

Just In Time is a convenience tool. Alerts can be late, missed, or wrong: for example, if your Mac is asleep or offline, if Google is unavailable, or because of a bug. Do not rely on the app as your only reminder for any meeting where missing it could cause harm, financial loss, or legal consequences.

The hard block covers your whole screen, above other apps, including during presentations, screen sharing, and recordings. You are responsible for configuring its timing, or turning it off, to suit how you work.

10. Beta software, provided as-is

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for missed meetings, workflow disruption, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, whether it works as designed or not. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to USD 50, or the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.

13. Price

There is no charge during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you the price and terms in advance, and you will not be charged unless you actively choose to sign up.

14. Ending your use

You may stop using the app at any time by disconnecting your calendar and uninstalling it; the Privacy Policy explains how to remove everything it stored. We may suspend or end your licence if you break these terms, and we may discontinue or change the beta at any time. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 17 continue to apply after your use ends.

15. Transfer

We may transfer these terms to a company we control or to a successor to the app. We will let you know, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced.

16. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using it.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the app. If you use the app as a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and nothing in these terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply to you.

18. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.

19. Contact

Just In Time is provided by Michael Milstein, Tel Aviv, Israel, as an individual rather than a company. Questions about these terms: michael.milstein10@gmail.com.
